Whether you are a complete beginner taking your very first meditative step, or an experienced practitioner deepening a long-standing practice, there is a class here for you. All sessions are built on clear instruction, a warm atmosphere, and a genuine respect for each person's unique pace.
Sessions are offered outdoors and indoors depending on the season — because practising in nature adds a dimension no studio can replicate. All levels welcome. No equipment required.
All Levels
The world's most practised Tai Chi system — developed by Yang Lu Chan in the 19th century and now taught in parks and community halls across every continent. Yang style is characterised by its expansive, graceful movements and its capacity to accommodate practitioners of any age or physical ability.
Over time, students also explore the beautiful Tai Chi Fan form — an expressive extension that weaves traditional movement with artistic grace — and the precise, meditative Tai Chi Sword.
Beginners Welcome
Shibashi — meaning "eighteen postures" — is a form of Tai Chi Qigong created by Professor Lin Hou-Sheng in the early 1980s. His intention was to distil the most healing qualities of Tai Chi into a gentle, accessible sequence that could be practised by people of any age, including the elderly and those with limited mobility.
Each of the eighteen movements coordinates with the breath, creating a flowing meditative state that calms the mind, invigorates the energy systems and restores the body. It is now practised by millions worldwide.
Community
There is something uniquely powerful about practising in a group. The shared field of intention amplifies individual experience, and the community that forms around regular sessions often becomes as nourishing as the practice itself. especially in care-homes . This type of class is ideally suitable for the 'wellbeing of the staff as well as the residents. Contact us to lean more about our offer of Group classes for residential care homes.
Outdoor classes are offered seasonally — practising beneath open sky, among trees and natural sounds, adds a dimension of aliveness that deepens every movement. Indoor workshops run throughout the year with focused themes: foundations, breath, energy cultivation and form refinement. Currently we are offering FREE lessons on The Vine in Sevenoaks, requesting donations for The Hospice on the Weald . These tend to be carried out on the nearest Saturday to the 1st day in each month at 9:30am.
